There are hundreds of separate cultures spread throughout the world. All these cultures have seperate religious views, rituals, ways of worship, etc. All these cultures have different myths and ideas but they all have the same base. For example some of them include gods, floods, chaos, and the creation of the world began.
One example of this is in the Greek creation myth on how the olympian gods and goddesses came to be. The story began with chaos and how a king god, Chronus had fear that his children gods would overthrow him so he tried to kill them, there was a war and eventually he was actually overthrown. Thats the basis of the story because in cultures, over time people change the stories little by little but they still have the same similarities. This is because "it's like a giant game of telephone."- (Sweezey 1)
In conclusion, although cultures have different stories, religions, and myths, they all have similar beginings. An example of this is the Mexican creation myth, it was about a "god" who created five earths, when he was dissapointed with them he caused chaos and destroyed them one by one, dissapointment after disappointment. These two stories relate because they both begin with chaos and end with peace. They end with peace because in the Greek story, the Olympian gods become the "good" gods, and in the Mexican story the god leaves the earth that we live on because it was the only "good" earth.
